  About the Children

These are just some of the children Perpetual Fostering has been able to offer a home to:

P.
P was 15 years old and was unable to live at home at home with her father because he had mental health problems and was unable to manage her challenging behaviour and her continual staying out at night.

P was placed with a white / British couple close to her area of origin. They were able to offer support and advice to both P and her father, allowing them time to talk and re-establish their father/daughter relationship before P returned home.

D & L
D & L are 11 and 6 years old respectively. Both boys have experienced long periods of neglect from their parents. D was forced to take on the caring role of his brother. Both parents had long standing issues with alcohol misuse. D has major issues with education and refused to remain in school.
The brother’s were placed outside their own area with a white/british couple who have been able to offer them a nurturing, supportive and caring environment which has helped D to be reintegrated back into education.

R.
R was 13 years old and had been known to Social Services for some time. She was beyond parental control and attending special educational provision for children with behavioural difficulties. School subsequently excluded R stating they could no longer guarantee her or other children’s safety. She displayed challenging behaviour and regularly absconded.

R was placed away from her area of origin with a white/british-black/asian couple. Following a great deal of one to one, self esteem building and boundry setting together with a lot of relationship building with R’s mother and father, who were sceptical about the quality or purpose of the placement, R is now stable in this placement and displaying non of the above behaviour. The relationship between the carers and the parents has been the key to the success of this placement.

A
A is a 10 year old male who, together with his brothers and sisters, was removed from parents after long periods of neglect and domestic violence. He was placed outside his local area with a white/british couple who had 3 young boys of their own.

A was removed from his parents care and taken directly to the carers. He was welcomed by the family and soon gained enough confidence to be able to participate in activities with the other boys. He attends full time education and is a member of a local football team.
