OBF Spring Activity Ideas3

As we step into Spring and the school holidays, there’s plenty of egg-cellent activities to enjoy together. At Olive Branch Fostering, we love nothing more than making amazing memories with our children and young people, but we know that sometimes thinking of new activities can be hard.

We’ve put our minds together and come up with some of our favourite ways to have some fun during the holidays.

Here are some of our ideas:

Chocolate Egg Hunt:

Set up a chocolate egg hunt in your garden or local park. Hide chocolate eggs, plastic eggs filled with treats, or even clues leading to a larger prize.

Decorate Eggs:

Get creative with egg decorating! You can dye eggs with traditional colours or use stickers, markers, or paint to create unique designs.

Crafts:

Set up a crafting station with supplies for making Spring themed crafts like bunny ears, paper flowers, or plate gardens.

Baking:

Spend time in the kitchen baking yummy treats like cookies, or a bunny-shaped cake.

Visit a Farm or Petting Zoo:

Many farms and petting zoos offer activities during the school holidays, such as egg collecting, petting baby animals, or even pony rides.

Movie Day:

Settle in for a cozy movie day and watch classic family films with lots of popcorn and treats. We particularly love Peter Rabbit at this time of year.

Spring Brunch or Picnic:

Plan a special spring brunch at home or pack a picnic and head to a nearby park for a fun outdoor meal.

Plant a Garden:

Spring is a great time to start gardening. Get the whole family involved in planting flowers, vegetables, or herbs in your garden or in pots on your balcony or windowsill.

Family Game Day:

Spend quality time together playing all of your favourite games. Why not choose a themed game of charades, picking characters from your favourite film.

DIY Decorative Basket:

Have each family member create their own decorative basket using craft supplies, then exchange baskets and fill them with treats and small gifts.

These activities can be tailored to suit the preferences and ages of your family members. Most important of all is to have fun celebrating time together!
